Official Rules for the Games

We are a proud 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and our team is focused on honesty, discipline, and respect. These values guide all we do, both on and off the competition floor. This site is here to make it obvious what the rules, expectations, and standards are that every athlete, coach, and member of our team agrees to follow.

The U.S. Martial Arts Team is made up of the best martial artists from all across the country. They get together to represent the United States at important contests in the U.S. and around the world, like the World Martial Games, which happen every two years. Our competitors come from a wide range of martial arts forms and backgrounds, including Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and more. But when they step onto the mat, they are all part of the same team. What makes us different is this sense of unity.

But being on this team isn’t only about winning, it’s also about building character, making friends and growing as a person. We think that great champions are not just good at their sport, but also good sports, dedicated and able to lift others up. The rules on this page are meant to keep that culture safe and make sure that everyone lives up to the values of respect, honor, and working together.

These rules will help you understand what it means to wear our team’s colors, whether you are a rookie athlete, a veteran competitor, or a supportive parent or coach. Please read them attentively and get into the spirit of greatness that drives the U.S. Martial Arts Team.
